Reservations

Sherrie Cahoon, Manager of Reservations and Guest Services

Sherrie is a native of Dare County. She loves the Outer Banks and can’t imagine living anywhere else. When it comes to customer service, Sherrie knows what it takes. She goes the extra mile for each person, realizing his or her unique needs. When you come by our office, Sherrie will always have a smile and a friendly hello.

Property Services

Vicki Gibbs, Housekeeping Manager

Born on a farm in nearby Engelhard, NC, Vicki lived for 20 years on the Outer Banks before moving back home in 2001. She earned an associate degree in Human Services and has traveled all over the United States. While she has worked for Seaside Vacations since 1997, Vickie took a one-year sabbatical to become a correctional officer in a medium security North Carolina men's prison. Her hobbies include motorcycle riding, weight training, creating jewelry, and photography.

Neil Konigsberg, Manager, Maintenance and Pools/Spas

Neil was born and raised in New York City, where he attended Stuyvesant High School, Marietta College and graduated with a B.S. from New York University Stern School of Business. He was an executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Production for a multi-national company. Since relocating to the Outer Banks, Neil has worked in all aspects of the vacation rental market. He has sold property as a licensed real estate broker and worked in property management.

Neil and his wife, Andrea, have owned a rental home on the Outer Banks. Three years ago, they decided to leave Long Island and move to the Outer Banks full time. They have four children. Their eldest, Brandon, is managing director for a major national bank. He lives on Long Island with his wife and two children. Jason, who resides in Montana, is a ski patrolman in the winter. Dustin lives in New York City, where he is a claims manager for a national insurance company. The youngest is Dawn, also living in NYC, who recently graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University and will be attending law school.

Neil is a sports fanatic who enjoys football and collegiate-style wrestling. He especially loves walking the beach with his soft-coated wheaten terrier Mookie, and takes pleasure in everything the Outer Banks has to offer! Neil is a people person who can’t go anywhere without running into his many friends and acquaintances.

Crystal Maqueda, Linens Manager

Crystal has lived all her life right here on the Outer Banks. Crystal lives with her husband, and 2 children, along with a fish named Hamburger. If you ask her what is her favorite thing about the Outer Banks, she will tell you “the people”. She enjoys dining at Henry’s and Outback. Crystal understands the key roll in helping people is to listen, as well as providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Property Management

Catherine Dunlevy, Property Manager
Catherine manages properties in Corolla and Duck and has been a member of the Seaside Vacations team since 2006. She holds a degree in communications from Peace College in Raleigh, NC, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker. Catherine previously worked as a REALTOR® in Lake Gaston, NC.

A homeowner who has worked with Catherine says, “Catherine has demonstrated over and over what I believe are the three attributes any property management professional must have to satisfy their clients: She is responsive, courteous and follows through. Once she tells you she’s “on it,” you can forget about it, because she won’t.”

In her spare time, Catherine enjoys traveling, cooking, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.  

Gloria Land, Property Manager
Responsible for homes in Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills, Gloria has more than 10 years of experience in the vacation rental industry. She started out as a reservationist and quickly worked her way up in the field. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker and has first-hand knowledge of all aspects of the vacation rental industry. Gloria joined the Seaside Vacations team in 2007.

Gloria grew up as an “army brat” and called many locations throughout the U.S. and abroad “home.” She has called Kill Devil Hills home since 1998 and enjoys visiting the beach, spending time with her daughter and horseback riding. 

Cara Shields, Owner Relationship Manager
Cara, who joined Seaside Vacations in 2006, manages homes in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head. She holds a degree in business administration / marketing from the University of Miami, which she attended on an academic scholarship.

A former relationship manager and commercial account executive, Cara is a licensed Real Estate Broker and a volunteer diver at the North Carolina aquarium on Roanoke Island. A homeowner recently complimented Cara on her “responsiveness, attentiveness and proactive marketing.”

During her free time, Cara enjoys going to the beach with her golden retriever, Sailor, traveling, playing soccer and skiing. An avid runner, she participates in both local and national marathons.

Finance

Debbie Hickey, Director of Finance and Human Resources

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Debbie has been a member of the Seaside Vacations management team since 2004. She leads our finance department and is our human resources coordinator. A former accounting director and chief accounting officer for a Fortune 500 company, she brings a wealth of management and corporate experience to the team.

Debbie holds a degree in business administration from St. Mary’s College in Indiana.

Originally from Philadelphia, Debbie now resides in Nags Head. She enjoys collecting shells on the beach with her dog and looks forward to entertaining visiting friends and family each summer.

Administration

Gordon Jones, President

Gordon founded the company that would later become Seaside Vacations in 1990 and continues to serve as president. He holds a degree from the University of Virginia and has worked in the vacation rental industry for 22 years. A Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), Gordon is also a Certified Residential Broker (CRB) and a New Homes Specialist (NHS).

An acknowledged expert in the fields of real estate and property management, Gordon’s commentary has been featured in The Wall Street Journal. A regular columnist for The North Beach Sun, his column, “Property Manager’s Notebook,” is recognized as a resource for homeowners, prospective homeowners and property managers throughout the vacation rental industry. 

An active member of the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA), he is frequently asked to speak at national seminars. He is past president of the North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association (NCVRMA), past board member of the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® and a founding board member of the Outer Banks Community Development Committee, an organization that develops affordable housing and provides housing and asset building services to residents of northeastern North Carolina.

Gordon is president of Coldwell Banker Seaside Realty, a sister company to Seaside Vacations.

He enjoys flying, diving, hiking, fishing, boating, biking, surfing and kayaking.

Will Shields, General Manager

Previous work experience allows Will to apply the patience of a school teacher, the persistence of a sales person and the leadership of a business manager daily in his role as leader of the Seaside Vacations team. Since 2005, he has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company.

Will earned a BS and a Master of Education degree from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and received numerous awards as a teacher, sales person and manager. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker and has owned a home on the Outer Banks since 1988.

An avid jogger, Will takes to the dunes with his dog Buoy each morning. He enjoys collecting sea glass, entertaining family and friends, going to the beach and spending time with his wife and three children.

Krista Boughey, Director of Marketing

Krista brings with her a wealth of expertise in the marketing and media field. She resides in Currituck, NC. Her husband of six years is a Navy Pilot and is based out of NAS Oceana. Krista is originally from Davidsonville, MD and attended Randolph-Macon College where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the college newspaper. Upon graduation, she became an aviation reporter with Phillips Business Information in Potomac, MD. Krista is vice chairman of the Tourism Advisory Board of the Currituck County Department of Tourism Board and is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
