Property Services
Greg Sherman, Director of Property Services
Greg thrives on creation and development of personal relationships with homeowners in order to provide peace of mind - knowing their investment property is well maintained, safe, and secure. Greg has lived on the Outer Banks for more than 30 years and knows firsthand the environmental and rental demands placed on the homes here. It is Greg’s goal to provide personalized service, so Seaside Vacations homeowners will feel comfortable and confident about the services rendered to their property.
Greg is an avid surfer whose love and respect of the ocean was developed and encouraged by his father who taught him to surf as a young boy. He is the Team Manager for the Corolla Surf Shop surf team, a member of the Surfrider Foundation and competes in the Outer Banks District of the Eastern Surfing Association. Greg also enjoys snow skiing in which he is a certified PSIA ski instructor. Other interests include spending time with his wife and two children, fishing, basketball, and golf.
Vicki Gibbs, Housekeeping Manager
Born on a farm in nearby Engelhard, NC, Vicki lived on the Outer Banks for 20 years before moving back home in 2001. She earned an associate degree in Human Services and has traveled all over the United States. While she has worked for Seaside Vacations since 1997, Vickie took a one-year sabbatical to become a correctional officer in a medium security North Carolina men's prison. Her hobbies include motorcycle riding, weight training, creating jewelry, and photography.
Property Management
Responsible for homes in Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills, Gloria has more than 10 years of experience in the vacation rental industry. She started out as a reservationist and quickly worked her way up in the field. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker and has first-hand knowledge of all aspects of the vacation rental industry. Gloria joined the Seaside Vacations team in 2007.
Gloria grew up as an “army brat” and called many locations throughout the U.S. and abroad “home.” She has called Kill Devil Hills home since 1998 and enjoys visiting the beach, spending time with her daughter and horseback riding.
Melissa Towler, Property Manager
Melissa has been in property management on the Outer Banks for 18 years. She also has experience as an owner of an Outer Banks Graphics and Marketing company.
Prior to moving to the Outer Banks, Melissa worked in Los Angeles, California in the entertainment industry at Twentieth Century Fox, Columbia Studios and Paramount Pictures on such television shows as M*A*S*H, The Fall Guy, Family Ties and Dear John and feature films such as I Oughta Be In Pictures and Max Dugan Returns.
A History and Political Science major at Appalachian State, Melissa has worked in Senior Staff positions on several U.S. Presidential campaigns as well as U.S. Senate races, Gubernatorial campaigns and has managed North Carolina races for Secretary of State and Judicial races for the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
She has been married “forever” and has three children and three grandchildren.
Brennan Jones, Assistant Property Manager
Brennan Jones was recently added to the Property Management team.
Brennan has an extensive history with Seaside Vacations that ranges through all aspects of the company over a ten year period. Brennan began his career with Seaside Vacations in his teens starting in the Maintenance Department, and working his way through the Housekeeping, and Pool and Spa Departments before attending East Carolina University. Upon graduation from ECU in 2008, Brennan successfully completed all of the requirements to earn his NC Broker’s License and returned to Seaside Vacations with a position in the Marketing Department. During his time with the marketing team, Brennan helped increase the online traffic substantially.
Brennan has been promoted to Assistant Property Manager where he has the opportunity to put his Broker’s License to good use working with the Reservation staff and the Property Managers.
Stephanie Massoth, Business Development Manager
New to Seaside Vacations and Coldwell Banker Seaside Realty in July 2010, Stephanie brings over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. While attending East Carolina University she moved to the Outer Banks “sight unseen” and spending her summers here before starting her real estate career in 1985. Stephanie has held positions in office and property management, land development, marketing and sales. She is also a NC Licensed Broker.
For over 14 years, she worked for Kitty Hawk Land Company, a well-respected land development firm. During her tenure, she held many positions including Executive Assistant to President, Office Manager as well as Sales Assistant and Closing Coordinator – where she processed nearly 1500 sales contracts to successful closings. During her last months Stephanie joined the sales team as an Associate Broker.
Stephanie was the managing partner in her own vacation rental home for over 10 years. This experience will be valuable to Seaside Vacations owners.
Stephanie lives in Southern Shores with her husband, Chris, and their black lab, Stella Rose. In her spare time, she enjoys helping her husband with the family painting business, Chris Massoth Painting and spending time with family and friends.
Finance
Debbie Hickey, Chief Financial Officer
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Debbie has been a member of the Seaside Vacations management team since 2004. She leads our finance department and is our human resources coordinator. A former accounting director and chief accounting officer for a Fortune 500 company, she brings a wealth of management and corporate experience to the team.
Debbie holds a degree in business administration from St. Mary’s College in Indiana.
Originally from Philadelphia, Debbie now resides in Nags Head. She enjoys collecting shells on the beach with her dog and looks forward to entertaining visiting friends and family each summer.
Administration
Gordon Jones, President
Gordon founded the company that would later become Seaside Vacations in 1990 and continues to serve as president. He holds a degree from the University of Virginia and has worked in the vacation rental industry for 22 years. A Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), Gordon is also a Certified Residential Broker (CRB) and a New Homes Specialist (NHS). An acknowledged expert in the fields of real estate and property management, Gordon’s commentary has been featured in The Wall Street Journal. A regular columnist for The North Beach Sun, his column, “Property Manager’s Notebook,” is recognized as a resource for homeowners, prospective homeowners and property managers throughout the vacation rental industry.
An active member of the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA), he is frequently asked to speak at national seminars. He is past president of the North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association (NCVRMA), past board member of the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® and a founding board member of the Outer Banks Community Development Committee, an organization that develops affordable housing and provides housing and asset building services to residents of northeastern North Carolina.
Gordon is president of Coldwell Banker Seaside Realty, a sister company to Seaside Vacations. He enjoys flying, diving, hiking, fishing, boating, biking, surfing and kayaking.
Adam Norko, Director of Marketing
Adam was born in Syracuse, NY, and spent the majority of his childhood and early adult life in Boston, MA. Adam spent six years in the Marine Corps and graduated from the University of Massachusetts with honors. Adam has worked in a variety of fields from sales to fitness, but the majority of his professional experience has been spent in real estate entrepreneurial endeavors. Adam owned and operated a real estate investment firm in Boston, MA and Charlotte NC, and played an integral role in starting a real estate investment group in Richmond, VA. As an entrepreneur, Adam is experienced in all aspects of small business, and has gained proficiencies in online marketing and writing. Adam joined the Seaside Vacations team in May 2008 when he relocated to the Outer Banks from Charlotte, NC. Adam is an avid surfer and enjoys all aspects of the Outer Banks lifestyle, especially the abundance of outdoor activities.
