Outer Banks Beach Report: 12.27.13 - Happy Holidays
Hello everyone and welcome to another Outer Banks beach report. This is Brandon from Seaside Vacations
and I hope you're holidays were filled with plenty of delicious food, distance relatives, and an item or two from your Christmas wish list.
The picture above and video below are from 8:30 am this morning at a public beach access around milepost 8 in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina
It's certainly not as warm as it was last Friday, but temperatures aren't too bad on the Outer Banks this morning. With highs in the upper 40s and plenty of sunshine, it's a great morning/day for a walk on the beach - as long as you bundle up.Small wind from the North at around 10 mph and no rain in the forecast over the next 24 hours.
The semi-strong Northern winds have created choppy conditions in the Atlantic Ocean this morning. Waves are about knee high and ocean water temperatures are in the mid 40s range. We had a slight warm up in water temps before Christmas, but now it's cold again.
Not a whole lot of fishing going on in the Outer Banks these past few days. The holiday in conjunction with the chilly temps have kept most anglers inside. Most of the piers on the OBX are closed for the season, tomorrow should be a great day for surf fishing since it's going to be warm - especially if you have a permit to drive on the beach.
Thanks for reading today's beach report. We hope to see you soon..... have fun! :)
