Outer Banks Beach Report: 12.30.13 - Almost 2014!
Good morning and welcome back to another Outer Banks beach report. This is Brandon from Seaside Vacations
and I took the picture above and video below at 8:30 am this morning at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina. We're less than 48 hours away from the New Year!
It's a pretty decent day on the Outer Banks weather wise, high temps approaching 50 degrees with party cloudy conditions. Light wind from the NW at around 5 mph over the next 24 hours. No chance of rain in the forecast for today.
Apart from the 50 degree Atlantic Ocean water, it's a decent day for surfing on the Outer Banks. Waves are about knee to waist high and clean - I was watching one surfer south of Jenntte's Pier catch a few good waves. You can get a live view of the surf conditions at Jennette's Pier by viewing our live Nags Head webcam.
Yesterday was a wretched day on the Outer Banks in regards to the weather, today is a big improvement. Not a whole lot of anglers were fishing yesterday, today will be an entirely different story. Great day for surf or pier fishing, should be plenty of Drum and Dogfish in the ocean ready to get hooked.
Thanks for reading today's beach report, we hope to see you soon.... have fun!
