We obviously think the Outer Banks is the perfect place to be ANY time of year but Spring on the Outer Banks is particularly nice! If you’re considering an April visit, don’t worry about your kids missing out on classic Easter traditions. All you have to do is grab an Easter basket, book your trip, and head to the Outer Banks for an Easter experience your kids will talk about for months! Whether you’re planning a week-long vacation or just heading to the beach for a few days, you and your kids will love these Outer Banks Family-Friendly Easter Events.*

Flying Into Spring And Easter EGGstravaganza
Hosted by Kitty Hawk Kites, the Flying Into Spring And Easter EGGstravangza takes place at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head. This great festival is family-friendly and free to the public. The Easter Bunny is going to be on-site for photos and the annual Jockey’s Ridge Crossing Easter Egg Hunt will be a blast! Continuing to honor National Kite Month, kids (and adults) will also love watching the huge, colorful kites fly across Jockey’s Ridge ranging in 30-feet to 100-feet in size. Kids are encouraged to bring an Easter basket for treats!
Easter Eggstravaganza 2019
April 20, 2019 10:00 AM - 1:00 PMEaster Eggstravaganza 2019 at Elizabethan Gardens is a spectacular event for kids of all ages. Admission is free to members/friends but standard admission is charged for non-members. One child under 5 admitted free with each paying adult. Kids should bring their own Easter baskets for goodies. Prize eggs award kids gift certificates, stuffed animals and other fun prizes. During the awesome egg hunt, kids will also enjoy competitions like egg spoon races and hat contests and live music and dance performances. Plus, the kids can make cute Easter crafts to bring home. There will also be a special visit from Sir Walter Peter Wabbit! Various vendors will also be on site.
5th Annual DMA Easter Egg Hunt
The 5th Annual Duck Merchants Association Easter Egg Hunt is designed to help you explore the town of Duck! Visit shop after shop all across Duck to find the Easter Eggs! This is a great photo opportunity – just be sure to tag #DoDuckNC and #DuckNC! Some of the shopping centers that participate are the Scarborough Faire shopping center, Waterfront Shops, Wee Winks Square shops, and the Scarborough Lane shopping center. There are also a few various locations that participate along Duck Road. Be sure to check out the website for an official list of participating stores. The current 2019 participants list will be posted there once it has been finalized.
6th Annual Hoppin' 5k, 10k, & Fun Run

Hosted by Mis & Sis Events, the 6th Annual Hoppin’ 10k, 5k & One Mile Fun Run will take place in Manteo at Uppowoc & Grenville Street. The 5k and 10k races will begin at 7:30am and the Fun Run takes place at 9:30am. Food is provided at the end of the race and awards will follow for the top three male finishers and top three female finishers of the 5k and 10k races. Participants in the 5k and 10k also get T-Shirts! Medals are also provided for all racers. This fun event is a great way to start your Easter weekend and it’s for a great cause – proceeds are donated to local community member, Kim Head, to provide assistance for expenses related to her recent Cancer diagnosis. Everyone is welcome – walkers, runners and strollers!
Easter Brunch at the Lifesaving Station
