OBX Tunes: Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Under the Bridge"
Did you enjoy watching Super Bowl XLVIII last Sunday? You probably did if you're a Seattle Seahawks fan. And if you're a fan of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, there's always next season.
Awesome Playlistsfrom playlists.net put together a mixtape full of the "heaviest Super Bowl anthems" that features a group of artists behind some of the most memorablehalftime performances of all time.
Although we've recently featured Red Hot Chili Pepper songs " Dani California" and " Snow (Hey Oh) " on our OBX Tunes series, there's always room for more classic rock songs. And besides, the Peppers only got to play one song during the Super Bowl while Grammy Award winning artist Bruno Mars beltedout the lyrics to four of his most popular songs.
This weeks song "Under the Bridge," was written by lead singer Anthony Kiedis when he was driving along the freeway in Los Angeles and felt alone in the world. He started singing a song to cheer himself up, and "Under the Bridge" is what came out of his mouth.
The chorus is about how he didn't want to feel as lonely as he was that day ever again. Sometimes the best songs are made outside of a recording studio when you least expect it.
Thanks for checking out this weeks song and be sure to check back in next week for another OBX Tunes jam.
