Vacation Rentals Provider Seaside Vacations Teams Up With Surfrider Foundation for Beach Cleanup

Thursday, October 24, 2013

north-carolina-big-sweep-outer-banksLeading Outer Banks vacation rentals provider, Seaside Vacations, teamed up with the local Surfrider Foundation for the North Carolina Big Sweep on October 12.

The NC Big Sweep is an annual beach cleanup that takes place at nine locations along the Outer Banks from Southern Shores to Nags Head. Seaside Vacations was a proud sponsor this year and as part of the Seaside C.A.R.E.S. program, several of the company's employees volunteered during the event.

“The Big Sweep is a great way to clean up our beautiful beaches after a busy tourism season,” said Kristen Constantineau, Creative Director at Seaside Vacations. “Our beaches are regularly maintained but a yearly thorough cleanup is necessary.”

The North Carolina Big Sweep had more than 175 local volunteers in 2012 that contributed to over 5,500 pounds of collected debris.

"The non-profit Surfrider Foundation does a fantastic job organizing this yearly event," said Constantineau. "As part of the Seaside C.A.R.E.S program, we were able to collect several trash bags full of garbage along the beach in Southern Shores."
