Rain or shine, art and community spirit come together in Buxton at the Lighthouse Arts & Crafts Show! Whether you’re staying in nearby Hatteras, Frisco, or Avon—or just looking for a charming local event that supports a great cause—this monthly showcase is a can’t-miss experience during your Outer Banks vacation.

A Creative Haven Out of the Elements

Hosted at the Family Life Center by Lighthouse Church of Buxton, the Lighthouse Arts & Crafts Show welcomes locals and visitors alike into a clean, air-conditioned venue—a true retreat from the heat, humidity, and summer storms that often roll through Hatteras Island.

Wander through the rows of artist booths and discover handmade jewelry, paintings, photography, woodcrafts, textiles, soaps, baked goods, and other one-of-a-kind treasures crafted by local hands. You’re not just shopping—you’re connecting with the heart of the island’s creative community.

A Purchase with Purpose

The best part? Your participation gives back. Booth fees, donations, snacks, and bag lunches sold during the event directly benefit outreach programs for Hatteras Island residents. One such program is The Vibe, held on the first Friday of each month. This free, family-friendly night is packed with basketball, games, music, crafts, popcorn, pizza, and more for kids of all ages.

Funds raised from the art show also help support movies, concerts, Vacation Bible School, youth programs, and community-wide celebrations hosted throughout the year at the Family Life Center.
