Event: Day at the Docks: A Community Heritage Celebration
When: September 18-19, 2026
About: Fun annual celebration commemorating the local waterfolk. This event is held each year in the middle of September on the docks in and around Hatteras Village. Events include a fun run, a chowder cook-off, children's activities, and, of course, LOTS of local seafood.

For a community-driven fishing tournament, check out the Nags Head Surf Fishing Tournament where skilled and amateur anglers show off their skills up and down the beach.
