About: On Saturday, come down to Ocracoke and participate in the annual Scallywag 5K/10K at 8AM! Not only is this a great way to get some exercise while you're on vacation, but you will be able to see Ocracoke's historic neighborhoods, harbor, and lighthouse - the 2nd largest in the United States! The course will be flat, perfect for all skill levels!
If you would rather bike or drive a golf cart to get around, those rentals will be available!
Not only will there be prizes for the top three male and females overall, but the top three male and females in each age group will recieve group awards! All runners will recieve a medal and a t-shirt - preregister to guarantee your size! A post run party will begin at 11:30 AM with entertainment and delicious brews provided by 1718 Brewery.
Sunday, the 1/2 Marathon is happening at 7AM! The location for this event will be at 1718 Brewery and runners will follow the course to Cape Hatteras National Seashore using a trail, circle the campground, and head back South to go through small neighborhoods. This course is flat - perfect for setting a new PR! Similar to the 10k/5k, this event has rentals available to go to accommodations and the prizes will be awarded in the same style. All participants will recieve a medal and a t-shirt - preregister for size guarantee!
