SEASIDE VACATIONS PARTNERS WITH HATTERAS ISLAND MEALS AND KORU BEACH KLUB TO SUPPORT LOCAL COMMUNITY
AVON, NC (JULY 3, 2023) - Seaside Vacations is happy to announce a recent partnership with Hatteras Island Meals and the Koru Beach Klub at the Koru Village Beach Klub in Avin in an effort to reduce food insecurity for Hatteras Island families. As part of the recent sponsorship and through the Seaside Cares program, Seaside Vacations COO, Lori Smith, and Hatteras Island General Manager, Holly Austin, presented a donation of $1,000 to Hatteras Island Meals during the June 29, "Dave Matthews Tribute Band" concert at the Koru Beach Klub. The donation comes as part of Seaside Vacations' sponsorship of the 2023 Koru Beach Klub Summer Series and Seaside Vacations' ongoing efforts to support the local Hatteras Island community and reduce food insecurity on the Outer Banks.
The partnership signals the ongoing fundraising initiative by Hatteras Island Meals (HIM) to raise money through the sale of tickets for their annual raffle. HIM is a 100% donation-funded and 100% volunteer-staffed nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide meals to elderly or homebound clients on Hatteras Island. The organization has been providing food to the people of Hatteras Island since 1987 and continues to grow with around 50 clients and nearly as many volunteers to help the mission.
"Hatteras Island Meals is fulfilling a need that no one else is providing,” said Seaside Vacations COO, Lori Smith, “So we’re glad we can be here and help with something that is close to our home.”
Seaside Cares is a charitable giving campaign within Seaside Vacations that contributes to the enrichment of the Outer Banks and other areas in the fields of community, relief & food security, the environment, and veteran support.
"One of our core values at Seaside Vacations is Community," said Smith. "We have an entire charitable giving component called Seaside Cares. Through Seaside Cares we sponsor donations to the Beach Food Pantry, in the past we've donated to the Methodist Mens Club here on Hatteras Island, participated in Hurricane relief efforts on Hatteras Island and in other NC coastal communities, sponsored 2 fresh water wells for communities in Africa and built a school in Nicaragua through the Sonder project. And...we are very proud to make this $1000 donation to Hatteras Island Meals to show our appreciation and support for the good work this organization does for the wonderful folks of Hatteras Island. May this be the first of many!"
This new partnership is part of Seaside Vacations' further expansion on Hatteras Island while supporting our community. With the recent May 2023 opening of an office in Avon, Seaside Vacations is committed to supporting the local community while offering both comprehensive and limited-service property management solutions for Hatteras Island property owners.
Hatteras Island General Manager, Holly Austin, believes that our creative property management options are part of what make Seaside Vacations so special. "One thing we’re bringing to the island, which we don’t believe anyone else is doing right now, is limited service contracts,” says Austin. “So, we can provide housekeeping and maintenance for homes that don’t need the renter side of it.”
