The Roanoke Island Historical Association (RIHA) is proud to present the Inaugural Roanoke Island Shellabration & BBQ—a brand-new culinary celebration sponsored in part by a grant from the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau.
Brought to you by the same team that has hosted The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival for seven years, this exciting new event invites you to enjoy an afternoon among the boats at Safe Harbor Marina & Tiki Bar in Wanchese.
What to Expect
Oysters, BBQ & More
Oysters from across the North Carolina coast—served fried, raw, steamed, baked, and more at six unique oyster stations featuring NC oyster farms (vendors announced soon).
BBQ from Pigman’s Bar-B-Que, serving up traditional Eastern Carolina style.
Shrimp fresh from local waters, straight from North Carolina shrimpers.
Chowders by Johanna’s—perfect for a crisp November afternoon.
Plus biscuits, desserts, and regional specialties to round out your plate.
Live Entertainment
The Blue Crab Boys – Local acoustic country favorites, performing live throughout the afternoon.
Special Powwow Performance – Indigenous cast members of The Lost Colony will present a cultural showcase of Native dancing styles, including Eastern Woodland, Smoke, Warrior, and more.
