Health and Wellness Outer Banks Trip Planner

The Outer Banks lifestyle is based on health and wellness. We have abundant fresh local seafood, clean air, beaches and water and a variety of ways to stay fit. If you’ve ever driven down Highway 12 in the morning you’ll see the streams of people walking or running along the adjacent path. If you’re someone who cares about your personal health and wellness then the Outer Banks is the perfect place for you.

Below are seven planned out days for a health and wellness conscious Outer Banks vacationer.


DAY 1: SPEND THE DAY AT THE BEACH

Start your week off right by unwinding at the beach.

Begin your first full day on the Outer Banks with a morning jog. You’ll be able to unwind from a day of traveling and get your mind relaxed and ready for aweek of fun.

In the late morning or early afternoon, go chill out near the water! Bring a towel or chair to relax on and don't forget your umbrella. Make sure to stay well hydrated and wear plenty of sunscreen. 

After dinner, go free your mind of all the stress of everyday life and enjoy a relaxing walk on the beach.


DAY 2: ENJOY A COMPLIMENTARY YOGA CLASS & WINE TASTING

Spend the morning freeing your mind while bringing Zen to your body. The talented instructors at Outer Banks Yoga offer Seaside Vacations guests (Club Seaside members) a full sunrise yoga session at their Kitty Hawk studio. The classis held on Tuesday mornings (June thru September) from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

For dinner, head over to Trio in Kitty Hawk and enjoy another complimentary Club Seasideevent. Carolina Wine tastings are on Tuesdays from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. and you are required to call ahead to reserve a spot. Also, make sure to come to thewine tasting with an empty stomach. Trio has plenty of delicious sandwiches and salads.

DAY 3: MAKE 3 HEALTHY OUTER BANKS INSPIRED DISHES

Eating right isn’t always as easy as it sounds – especially when you’re on vacation. DAY 4: DAY OF RELAXATION

DAY 5: TRY A VEGETARIAN DISH AT AN OUTER BANKS RESTAURANT

You don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy a great non-meat dish. There are plenty of delicious, animal-friendly cuisine choices on the Outer Banks thatyou can try.

The best part about vegetarian dishes is that typically they contain less calories and cholesterol. Don't worry If you are dining with your family or friends who aren't crazy about a vegetarian meal, the restraunts below also have terriffic non-vegetarian dishes. 

Seaside Gourmet to Go
The food here is carry-out only but don’t let that fool you. Their food is delicious and the portions are quite generous.  

Outer Banks Taco Bar
Reasonable prices, excellent tacos. Fixings bar has everything you could possible want for your taco. Don't forget to try the empanadas! 

The Bad Bean
Serving mexican dishes, the Black Bean has great food and even better prices. Make sure to try the veggie wrap!

Mama Kwans
Menu offers some very delicious options. Our favorite is the special occasion pasta. It is great and can be served with tuna, chicken, shrimp, or withoutmeat.


DAY 6: WORK YOUR BODY

Don't let your vacation interrupt your workout routine. Get your muscles moving and your heart racing at one of the finest fitness facilities on the Outer Banks! 

The Westside Athletic Club is the Outer Banks premier tennis, fitness and swimming club. Their amenities include eight tennis courts (clay and hard), 25-meter swimming pool, 5,000 square foot fitness facility with plenty of state-of-the-art equipment and even a café! Their knowledgeable staff offers a variety of fitness classes, personal training and tennis lessons. 

Not only will you be burning calories, but you’ll be saving money because all Club Seaside members receive a discounted membership ($5 per day) to theWestside Athletic Club!

DAY 7: SPA DAY!

The wide, tranquil waters of Currituck Sound are a serene backdrop to the quest for calm, contentment and renewal happening inside The Sanderling Spa.
