The North Carolina Golf Panel

Originally founded in 1995, the North Carolina Golf Panel is the authority in North Carolina’s golf course rankings. Every year, the top 100 golf courses in the state are selected. Per their website, members of the group include “golf media, including writers from some of the top daily newspapers in the state, an array of club pros and general managers at many outstanding courses, accomplished amateur players and college golf coaches, and others who take an active role in promoting golf in North Carolina.” Other categories include “Hidden Gems,” “Best Golf Getaways,” and “Best Club Amenities,” among others. Click here to view the entire 2018 winners list.

Located on the mainland, Kilmarlic Golf Club is just a short drive away for guests who vacation in Southern Shores or choose to book a rental home in Kitty Hawk. This fantastic 18-hole course is kept in tournament-playing condition. Designed by Tom Steele in 2002, the Kilmarlic Golf Club features Bermuda grass and covers over 600 acres of maritime forest and wetlands with natural formations like pine trees and giant oak canopies. This course also received recognition as #14 on the Top 15 You Can Play in NC by GolfWeek Magazine in 2013. You’ll love playing on the same course that was chosen to host the North Carolina Open in 2004 and 2009. If you get hungry on site, the club’s restaurant, Black Tartan Tap Room, serves burgers, sandwiches, salads and a variety of bar drinks. Call for tee times or book your tee time online.

The Currituck Club golf course is in the heart of Corolla conveniently located near many of our Corolla vacation rentals. Designed by Rees Jones in 1996, The Currituck Club is an 18-hole 6,800+ yard course built on natural Outer Banks soundside land including wetlands, maritime forests, and sand dunes. The course itself features Bermuda fairway grass and Bent greens grass. The club grounds also include a basketball and volleyball court, 7 tennis courts, a playground, fitness center, bike trails and lawn games. Other amenities include a beach shuttle, clinics, on-course beverage cart, driving range, and short game area with sand bunker. The club is often host of charity events, golf tournaments, corporate celebrations and even weddings. A pro-shop and full-service grille are also on site. Tee times can be booked online.

Nags Head Golf Links is the perfect course for Seaside Vacations guests who are staying in a Nags Head Vacation Home. Designed in 1986 by Bob Moore, the Nags Head Golf Links course is an 18-hole course covering 6,126 yards. Made of Bermuda fairway grass and Bent L93 Greens grass, the course utilizes the natural landscape of sand dunes and coastline to create a beautifully unique course rooted in authentic Scottish tradition. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, golfers can enjoy instructional clinics, private lessons, a golf supply shop, practice green and Cayman driving range. The grounds also feature the Links Grille which offers a full bar and serves up tasty dinners with a sunset view. The site is also often host of tournaments, celebrations and charity events.
