While the summer sun blazes and beach days abound here on the Outer Banks, it’s never too early to think about spreading warmth, of the heartfelt variety. That’s the inspiration behind “Jingle in July: Bundle Up for Seniors,” a special mid-year giving campaign focused on collecting new blankets and grip socks for local senior citizens at Spring Arbor and Peak Resources.

This heartfelt initiative may be heating up in July, but its impact will be felt during the chilly days of December when we kick off our Annual Seaside Cares Holiday Drive Trifecta where we support our local community through three impactful local donation drives, including support for our local senior citizens. Each July donation will be lovingly wrapped and delivered in December—just in time to bring warmth, comfort, and holiday joy to seniors in our Outer Banks neighborhoods. By gathering donations now, we’re making sure no senior is forgotten when the holiday season arrives.

Dart Board EmojiCampaign Goals

We’re calling on residents, visitors, and local businesses across the Outer Banks to help us reach our goal of:

  • 50 or more new throw-size blankets

  • 50 or more pairs of adult-sized, non-slip grip socks

Whether you're a year-round local or you're vacationing on the Outer Banks this summer, you can make a difference. Every donation ensures no senior is forgotten when the holidays arrive.

 Why Give in July?

Giving in July helps you avoid holiday burnout while still supporting those in need. The winter season is a busy time, and many people experience donor fatigue during November and December. Contributing now spreads out generosity and ensures our local OBX seniors aren't overlooked during the holiday rush.

By donating this summer, you're showing that the Outer Banks community is full of warm hearts—no matter the season.

 Extra Ways to Engage

 Why It Matters

Every senior deserves to feel remembered and cherished during the holidays. Through “Jingle in July,” we’re planting the seeds of generosity now so they can bloom into comfort, connection, and joy at year’s end.

“It’s 90 degrees out… but we’re thinking ahead to 30.”
Join us today and help make someone’s winter feel a little warmer.

Giving now also helps avoid the holiday charity burnout that so many of us feel come November and December, when wish lists pile up, inboxes overflow with donation requests, and time is stretched thin. By supporting meaningful initiatives like this one now, you’re making a real impact before the seasonal rush.

Mid-year giving keeps the holiday spirit alive all year long—and ensures our seniors aren’t forgotten when it matters most.

Ready to give? Drop off your donation anytime in July and be part of something truly heartwarming.

Hot outside. Warm hearts inside.
Let’s Bundle Up for Seniors—together.

Jingle in July: Frequently Asked Questions
