Tuesday, July 4th (Rain date: Wednesday, July 5th)

Nags Head - Start time:  9:25 PM

The annual Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular will take place on The Nags Head Fishing Pier, located at Mile Post 11.5 on NC Route 12, S. Virginia Dare Trail in Nags Head. The fireworks display will last approximately 20 minutes.

"Parking at and near the fireworks display site will be directed by the Nags Head Police Department. Those attending the show are encouraged to park east of U.S. Highway 158/S. Croatan Highway. Those choosing to park west of U.S. Highway 158/S. Croatan Highway should use extreme caution while attempting to cross this heavily traveled roadway.

All persons attending this event are reminded not to use or block private driveways. Vehicles blocking driveways or presenting a traffic hazard before, during, or immediately following this event will be towed. The Town of Nags Head requests that persons use the public beach accesses as pathways to the oceanfront. Please stay off the environmentally sensitive dune and do not use the private property of others, such as private gazebos or decks, to view the fireworks without the property owner's permission.

The following public beach accesses are recommended for access to the beach for fireworks viewing:

South of Nags Head Fishing Pier: Curlew Street, Hollowell Street, Conch Street.

North of Nags Head Fishing Pier: Bladen Street, Bittern Street, Bonnett Street, Barnes Street, Blackman Street.

Jockey's Ridge State Park is another ideal spot for viewing the fireworks. Other local fireworks may be seen but distantly. The park will be open late July 4th to accommodate visitors. Please call the park at 252-441-7132 for more information.

At the conclusion of the fireworks, spectator, pedestrian, and vehicular traffic exiting the area will be directed and controlled by Nags Head police officers.

Please remember that the personal use of fireworks and sky lanterns in Nags Head is illegal."

Manteo - Start Time: 3:00 PM

"Enjoy 4th of July on Manteo's Downtown Waterfront. Festivities start at 3PM and run until dark (as fireworks begin). Decorated bike contest, whacky hat contest, apple pie contest and much more will be featured at this year's event. Don't miss music by Martin Terry, Echoes of Heritage, Old Enough to Know Better, and the Lost Colony Choir. National Anthem sung by Megan Glover."

Fireworks over the sound to follow in the evening!

Duck - Annual Town of Duck 4th of July Parade -  Start Time: 9:00 AM

"Parade Route: The one-mile parade route is the same annually and begins at the crest of the hill on Scarborough Lane going towards the ocean, continues down Ocean Way, and then turns onto Christopher Drive. No part of the Parade is on Duck Road (SR 12). Plan to come early and make your way down toward Ocean Way to get the best parade viewing spot. Immediately following the parade, join us at the Town Park for a community social with live music by Just Playn' Dixieland, cold refreshments and the awarding of Parade trophies."

Friday, July 7th (Rain date: Saturday, July 8th)

Kill Devil Hills Annual Fireworks Show

"The Town of Kill Devil Hills has a new fireworks contractor this year! We happily welcome Pyrotechnico, an award-winning fireworks company from New Castle, PA, to Kill Devil Hills! This year, the fireworks event will be conducted not on July 4th but on July 7th off of Avalon Pier, with a rain date of July 8th. Throughout the search process we were told time and again that North Carolina-certified fireworks technicians are becoming scarce and that became a reality when we could not find a vendor for the traditional July 4th celebration. The date change, though, just gives everyone an opportunity to enjoy fireworks displays at other Dare County locations on the 4th and then come to Kill Devil Hills beaches the evening of July 7th, at dark. Representing Pyrotechnico, Justin Pruett has visited the Avalon Pier and found the location to be satisfactory for this year's event. On behalf of Pyrotechnico, he has voiced excitement over his company's new relationship with Kill Devil Hills and the pier location. Avalon Pier associates are equally enthusiastic about hosting this year's fireworks celebration.

So, pack a snack, bring a chair, unroll a blanket, get some sand between your toes, and have a dazzling good time at Kill Devil Hills' Independence Week fireworks celebration on Friday, July 7th, with a rain date on July 8th, at dark on the beach!"
